Overview

Come be a part of our Nation’s defense history.  EIS is looking for qualified individuals ready to support the 33rd Network Warfare Squadron (NWS) Computer Response Team at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX.  The 33rd NWS has a history dating back to World War II.  The 33rd NWS is the US Air Force’s principal (and sole) network defense element within the Air Force Network Operations Center.  Being a an active part of this unit means monitoring, securing, and protecting Air Force and Central Command global networks, ensuring network integrity, reliability, availability, and confidentiality and responding to hostile network threats and attacks.

Responsibilities

Tier II Infrastructure Technician will install, upgrade, and do daily maintenance of hardware and software consisting of Unix-based and Windows-based operating systems, Intel-based workstations, computer printers, network switches/hubs, routers, firewalls, Cybex switches, ATM fiber, gigabit Ethernet, 100 BaseT and network operations, and other network and computer components and devices. Perform system backups and recovery.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.
  • Install, move, add, change and troubleshoot UNIX and/or Windows based workstations, laptops and peripherals.
  •  Support both hardware and software activities.
  • Perform system analysis, design, development, test and evaluation activities, ensures the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety, survivability, human interface and other requirements in the total engineering effort.
  • Formulating operational concepts, performs mission and functional analyses, conducts requirements and information analysis, cost-benefit analysis, system trade studies, and risk analysis.
  • Selects system architecture, allocates requirements and prepares specifications.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience using computer and network security, advanced concepts of intrusion detection and network monitoring. 
  • 4+ years of network administration experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in the following:
    • Network Security, Cisco PIX/ASA Enterprise firewalls, routers, switches, VPN, Sidewinder, SNORT IDS, Cisco IPS, VMware Virtual Infrastructure v3, VMware VDI, SAN Storage solutions, Solaris, Linux, Windows Server and Workstation, Bluecoat, Automated Security Intrusion Measurement, System Security Authorization Agreements development, Air Force Regulations, policies, NOTAMS, DOD Regulations, and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance's and regulations.
  • Will required appropriate DoD 8570.01-M certifications Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and CompTIA Security+ Certified Professional.
  • Must have one or more of the following certifications: CISCO certification (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE).
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
