  • Overview

    The United States Postal Service (USPS) operates a complex logistics operation to transport mail and equipment between its mail processing and delivery facilities.  While some of the local transportation service within the larger metropolitan areas is provided by postal employees, the majority of the network is serviced by highway contract suppliers.  The complexity of the network requires continuous adaptations, resulting in requests for new service, or contract modifications.  We are seeking a contractor to remotely support our client at the Aurora, CO office for a temporary basis (7-12 months) to develop an Access database for their CDS contract renewal and solicitation management.

    Responsibilities

    • Experienced Access Developer.
    • Knowledgeable of software development life cycle methodology.
    • Experience using languages such as VB.
    • Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of database management systems.
    • Analyzes requirements to ensure the system meets performance needs.
    • Recommends technology purchases that will support and enhance the database management system.
    • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Familiar with relational databases and client-server concepts.
    • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

    Qualifications

    • Must be a U.S. citizen.
    • Security Clearance Type: Public Trust.
    • Full background check including drug screening .
    • Years of experience: at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
    • Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty.
    • Strong analytical and decision making skills.
    • Demonstrated collaborative communication skills with varied stakeholder groups.
    • Knowledgeable of supply chain management; specifically procuring contracts for services.
    • Ability to work remotely/independently.
    • Project based assignment on an hourly basis.
