  • Overview

    Supporting the DHS Enterprise Data Management Office (EDMO) program office under the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to focus on developing DHS enterprise-wide architecture strategies, directives, policies, procedures and standards for the management of data to ensure that DHS data is understandable, trusted, visible, accessible and interoperable. Working to provide a platform for the discovery and sharing of DHS structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, and provides the foundation for the information exchange sharing environment between DHS Components and with external partners.


    Supporting EDMO to develop and maintain the DHS Data Architecture as a component of the DHS Homeland Security Enterprise Architecture; support and expand the inventory of data assets and authoritative and trusted data sets in order to meet Executive Order and OMB directive M-13-13 Open Data Policy; and support and expand the inventory and analysis of critical information exchanges within DHS and with external partners including the use of the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM).


    • Help support the establishment of enterprise level data stewardship and governance programs
    • Maintain the inventory of data assets in the Enterprise Architecture Information Repository (EAIR)
    • Work with DHS Components data subject matter experts on maintaining their respective inventories


    • 1-2 years or more working as a business or data analyst.
    • Individual needs to have data experience with knowledge of agile methodology and relational data modeling preferred.
    • Individual must have excellent written and oral communication skills, able to effectively communicate with individuals at the executive level.
    • Experience using ERwin/other data modeling tools is preferred.
    • Data Modeling is a plus
    • Experience in the creation of physical, conceptual and logical data models, as well as the creation of enterprise data models
    • Experience using analytics tools (i.e. Informatica or Tableau) or data governance tools are a plus
    • Active Secret Clearance required
    • DHS Clearance preferred or Secret Clearance
    • US Citizenship Required.
