  • Overview

    Provide Program Management, Engineering and Logistics Support Services for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Director of Acquisition Programs/Program Executive Officer (PEO), COMDT CG-93, the Assistant Program Executive Officers (APEOs) for Aviation Programs (CG-931) and Surface Programs (CG-932), as well as individual surface programs: In-Service Vessel Sustainment Program (CG-9323), Fast Response Cutter (FRC) Program (CG-9324), Boats Program (CG-9325), Major Acquisition System Infrastructure (MASI) Program, Polar Sea Service Life Extension Program (SLEP), Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) Program (CG-9327).

    Responsibilities

    Program Executive Office Support:

    • Develop, review and processing of staffing plans, billet descriptions and position changes;
    • Review civilian and military awards including processing and policies governing awards;
    • Prepare and review briefs, plans and reports in support of acquisition programs;
    • Manage executive correspondence (memos, letters, presentation, reports, plans) including drafting, review, track changes, maintain version control and release of documents;
    • Receive and coordinate responses to questions from congress, external auditors and stakeholders and senior leadership, including compiling responses from multiple programs, drafting briefs and tracking version control;
    • Manage cubicles in program spaces;
    • Develop Integrated Master Schedule for all acquisition programs.

     Acquisition Project Support:

    • Develop documents to support Acquisition Decision Events in accordance with the Major Systems Acquisition Manual COMDTINST M5000.10D, including briefs, reports and acquisition program management plans; development includes drafting, technical editing, coordination of document review, compilation and adjudication of comments, version tracking and routing for signature;
    • Conduct technical review of program contract documents received from prime system contractors including plans, engineering drawings, calculations and logistics analyses and artifacts; Assist with tasks associated with general scheduling, data management, communications, logistics and technical tasks;
    • Develop and revise Engineering Change Proposals and Time Compliant Task Orders
    • Provide subject matter expertise in areas such as combat systems, air systems, C4ISR systems, infrastructure and facilities, and testing support of the HM&E and C4ISR systems to include cost analysis, procurement support, and the review and editing of existing work products and analyses.

    Qualifications

    • BS Degree or PE License in Naval Architecture
    • 10 years relevant experience
    • 5 years of progressive experience involving, ship feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, design integration, stability analysis, structural analysis, hydrodynamic and sea keeping analysis and vessel arrangements.
