  • Overview

    EIS is providing IT support and consulting services to the Census Bureau’s LAN Technology Support Office to develop, maintain, and enhance the Census Bureau-wide Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) capability at the Bureau’s headquarters in Suitland, MD as well as to provide follow-on technical and operational support of the VDI system.  


    • Provide technical assistance in support of the VDI environment.
    • Provide technical and best practice guidance to IT service Desk analyst as part of VDI team.
    • Deploy applications, patches and hotfixes for testing.
    • Act as point of contact on VDI connectivity issues through phone calls, emails, and assigned Remedy tickets.
    • Install Citrix server and perform daily checks with CPU Memory utilization, connectivity’s and other issues.
    • Assists with configuring Netscaler for load balancing purposes and reporting purposes.
    • Troubleshoot various latency, bottlenecks, and other performance-based problems within Citrix Architecture.
    • Troubleshoot issues with XenDesktop and XenApp 7.6 environments and provide service status updates during outages.
    • Deploy operating systems, software packages and updates, system patches and updates using SCCM.
    • Perform duties as required for VDI engineers including testing VDISK prior to release.


    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Candidates must be able to pass a US Public Trust background check for badging and to access client systems.
    • Candidates should have a bachelor degree or higher in a relevant technical major.
    • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or higher certification.
    • Experience managing environments for XenApp 7.6 on VMware platform.
    • Experience using Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 systems.
    • Familiarity with Citrix policies and Group Policies.
    • Experience developing test plans, conducting system tests, documenting and analyzing performance data, and reporting results to support development of production architecture.
