Enterprise Information Services, LLC, a Cognosante Company, is seeking a Senior SCADA Engineer to support a large Federal Energy customer.


  •  Support SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), data display, automatic generation control, dispatcher simulation, advanced applications, power system modeling, state estimation, real-time power system data exchange and real-time export of power system display and data for off system use.

  • Develop and implement technical security architectures for SCADA networks.

  • Working with business analysts in support SCADA processes.

  • Provide system support and troubleshooting on applicable SCADA systems.

  • Manage, support, and configure communications protocols ICCP, DNP, RTU, and PLC.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation(s) for SCADA support.
  • Design, develop, test and implement new SCADA software and subsystems.
  • Provide expertise for support and troubleshooting for the base SCADA functions of real-time, telemetry, communications, real-time calculations, program development for constrained path management, storage and retrieval of historical data, and collection and review of disturbance information.
  • Provide technical support for database, display and report generator system editors.
  • Provide expertise in the use of the SCADA database, display and report editors.
  • Provide expertise in the development and use of historian systems (e.g., OSISoft PI, eDNA).
  • Coordinate power system database and display changes with product owners.
  • Coordinate device commissioning and substation changes with the field teams and other utilities.
  • Coordinate the exchange of real-time data with other utilities across the inter-connected power system.
  • Coordinate with other utilities to restore real-time data exchange capabilities required to monitor and model across the inter-connected power system.
  • Use change control workflow practices and tools (Service Now) to initiate and document change.
  • Document, store and produce compliance evidence for compliance entities, to include CIP assets and data.
  • Support compliance redundancy requirements through planned testing and exercises.


  • US Citizen able to pass a government level background check and obtain a Public Trust.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of the electrical system, engineering, computer science
  • Minimum 3 years (5 years preferred) experience with electrical distribution systems
  • Knowledge of SCADA networking protocols ICCP, DNP, RTU, and PLC
  • Knowledge, experience, and proficiency supporting WAPA EMS systems. These systems currently include GE PowerOn (Reliance), GE eTerra (Platform), and PCS SCADA EMS (Energy Management System) systems.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Knowledge of advanced applications, such as, Real Time Contingency Analysis (RTCA), Stored Case Contingency Analysis (STCA), Real Time Network Analysis (RTNET), Dispatcher Training Simulation (DTS), Historian, and voltage stability tools.
  • Experience supporting and monitoring SCADA systems and correcting and/or reporting problems as appropriate to product owners.
  • Knowledge of data display, automatic generation control, power systems modeling, state estimation, real-time power system data exchange used for managing power system operations.
  • Service experience with power monitoring equipment and industrial and critical power applications
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems
  • Experience working on fast paced Agile Environment, and ability to manage and proactively take on work and deliver.
